Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first posted songs online in the year 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014 she continued to share her music over the web, including her own released single Bound. The track Sweat it is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music circulated around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some references for Rihanna. It was announced on December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded together with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox guested on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream dropped on September 5, 2018 with an accompanying music video. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. In November 2013, she released No One, and Pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album of the same name. The song was followed by a music video in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in its first seven days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
