Anushka Sharma, who was born May 1, 1988, in Ayodhya In Uttar Pradesh, she was the son of Kumar Sharma and Ashima Sharma. Anushka's father is an officer in the Colonel (retd.) The mother of Anushka is a housewife. Karnesh Sharma is Anushka's younger brother. He served in Merchant Navy, and is now a producer of films. Anushka Sharma graduated at the Army School, Bangalore and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Anushka Sharma has a master in Arts with a major in economics. Anushka Sharma wanted to be journalist or model and she did not want to be an actor. Anushka relocated to Mumbai following her graduation in which she was enrolled at Elite Model Management. Style consultant Prasad Bidapa groomed Anushka. In 2017, Anushka was the first model to debut at the designer Wendell Roricks' Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was picked by Rodricks to be the final model for spring 2007's Spring Collection. Anushka Sharma has been involved in a variety of brand-related campaigns since her Lakme Fashion Week debut. These include campaigns for Fiat Palio and Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka began auditioning for films and enrolled in an acting school in addition to her work as model. Anushka made her debut acting in the year 2008 with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan. As a screen test for her, she refused to do an impromptu one and took a day to prepare herself. She was later contracted to do three films as part of the Yash Raj Films label. The role she played was that of an unwed bride and married to a man in middle in age (the role that Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was in 2010's "Badmash Company" with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. The film was met with mixed praise. The same year Anushka Sharma was seen in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat' alongside Ranveer Singh in the role of a middle class Punjabi girl who starts her own wedding planning business. It received a favourable review and was widely regarded as a sleeper success. In Band Baaja Baaraat, Anushka's three-film agreement under the Yash Raj Films banner was completed.
